The news today announces that the elections for the West Northamptonshire Council will most likely be delayed by 12 months until 2021. Whilst it is sensible to delay the elections, postponing by 12 months does seem to be rash and somewhat undemocratic especially as schools and concert venues remain open.

There are many councillors in our area who will have been elected and unopposed for many years. Our area is in desperate need of new leadership and we will now face a further twelve months of uncertainty with our local services.
